OHHS Offers Patient Discount Program

Posted 04/20/21

Healthcare is expensive and Ohio Hills Health Services (OHHS) offers a Patient Discount Program to make healthcare accessible and affordable for area residents. The program offers patients a discount on services based on a patient’s household size and income. Individuals and families may be eligible for the discount program if they are uninsured, insured with high deductibles, or have a lot of out-of-pocket medical expenses.

“During the past year, many people in our area have lost income and are struggling financially. We want people to know that we may be able to assist them to help afford the healthcare they and their family members need,” said Dee Stewart, Director of Revenue Cycle Management, OHHS. “We are glad to answer patients’ questions and assist them with the Patient Discount Program application process.”

Residents who are below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may qualify for a discount on the services provided at all five of the OHHS facilities- Barnesville, Caldwell, Freeport, Woodsfield, and Quaker City. The patient discount program can assist with most of the OHHS services offered include medical, dental, and behavioral health counseling. The Patient Discount Program can also assist with prescriptions if patients utilize one of the contracted pharmacies.

The mission of a Community Health Center is to provide quality healthcare in underserved regions and to treat all patients regardless of ability to pay. Ohio Hills Health Services accepts most insurances, Medicare, Medicaid, and all patients are welcome regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.

The Patient Discount Program Income Chart along with the Ohio Hills Patient Discount Program Application is available at the OHHS web page under the forms tab.
