Dr. Lauren Wooten to Accept Patients at Barnesville Family Health Center
Posted 11/19/19Beginning December 4th, Dr. Lauren Wooten will start seeing patients every other Wednesday at the Barnesville Family Health Center. Dr. Wooten will continue her full-time practice at the Freeport Family Health Center, Freeport, Ohio.
“Dr. Wooten has been extremely flexible in working with Ohio Hills Health Services to best meet the needs of area patients,” said Jeff Britton, CEO, OHHS. “The closure of the OVMC and EORH and their respective physician offices has resulted in greater demand at the Barnesville Family Health Center. Dr. Wooten’s active involvement in Barnesville will allow us to accept additional patients who want to be treated locally.”
Dr. Wooten joined Ohio Hills Health Services in 2016 and initially began seeing patients in Woodsfield at the Monroe Family Health Center. However, when an opening became available in Freeport, Ohio she moved her practice to the Freeport Family Health Center.
“We are a medically underserved region and I hate the thought of OHHS having to turn patients away,” said Dr. Wooten. “Particularly those patients who lost their physician due to no fault of their own. I am glad to come to Barnesville one day a week if that prevents patients from having to drive out of the area to seek medical care.”
Dr. Wooten is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She studied at the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine, Saint Michael, Barbados and she completed her residency at Summa Health System – Barberton Campus, Barberton, Ohio. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians.
