Dr. Holly Overmiller to Begin Practice in Caldwell
Posted 11/19/19Collaboration between the Noble County Health Department, the Noble County Commissioners and Ohio Hills Health Services (OHHS) has resulted in bringing Dr. Holly Overmiller to Caldwell, Ohio beginning December 2nd. Dr. Overmiller’s practice will be located in the same building as the Noble County Health Department and will be called the Caldwell Family Health Center. She will see patients in Caldwell on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Dr. Overmiller joined the medical staff at OHHS on September 3, 2019. She completed an orientation at the Barnesville Family Health Center and then began seeing patients in Woodsfield. She will continue to see patients at the Monroe Family Health Center, on Tuesday and Thursday.
“Caldwell, Ohio is a medically underserved region, “said Jeff Britton, CEO, OHHS. “When the Noble County Commissioners approached me about providing a physician in Caldwell I knew Dr. Overmiller would be the perfect match. She is enthusiastic about working in a rural setting and is eager to have her own practice.”
Dr. Overmiller is a graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at Adena Health Systems, Chillicothe, Ohio. Dr. Overmiller is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
In addition to her Family Medicine Practice, as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Overmiller can provide Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) which is a hands-on technique to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury. OMT is a treatment where a physician moves a patient’s muscles and joints using techniques that include stretching, gentle pressure and resistance. The treatment can be used to ease pain, promote healing and increase overall mobility and can also help patients with a number of health problems such as asthma, sinus problems, carpal tunnel syndrome, and migraines.
“I am looking forward to a practice where I can work with the entire family and I can get to know my patients,” said Dr. Overmiller. “I view my role as educating patients about ways to stay healthy as well as treating them when they are ill. Everyone I have met in Noble County has been very welcoming. I am eager to become an active member of the community.”
Dr. Overmiller grew up outside of Beckley, WV in a medical household. Her father is a general surgeon and her mother is a physical therapist. In addition, her brother is an emergency room physician and her sister a physical therapist, so pursing a healthcare field was a natural career path.
